Two and half years ago, my partner (he's a Mexicano) and I decided to move to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, where his family resides. I sold everything I owned (which was a fair amount of stuff at age 59), loaded my 2004 car with only the basics, and drove for 3 days to meet up with him in a small AirBNB in a little village south of Monterrey. We almost immediately made a long-term rental deal with the landlord, and have been extremely happy with our decision to make Mexico our forever home. We are planning to move to Michoacán sometime in 2022, and have already been scouting houses (so much fun!!!). I loved coming across your story today! I'm so happy for the two of you, and wish you both many, many years of happiness together in Mexico. Cristo
