When citizens and those in power ignore the "little" things, like violations of the Hatch Act, and the dozens and dozens of other "small" assaults on the norms and laws of our republic, it makes it easier to forgive and forget much worse. A consequence is that when principled voices finally do object - whatever their political persuasion - they are often shouted down by people emboldened by Trump's go-to playbook of vitriol and ad hominem attack. I don't mind being shouted at. I'm not afraid. For me, character is on the ballot, not ideology. Character - not party. I will vote up and down the ballot for Americans who value the rule of law, who value decency, who value truth and honesty, and who recognize - and demonstrate - that true leaders serve the citizens, not the other way around.

Reminds me of the broken windows campaign of Giuliani in NYC in the 90s. Giuliani brought down the crime families in NY in the 80s and is now protecting the trump crime family in the 20s. Sad. Bigly.
